David is originally from Freeburg, IL, where he went to play college basketball at McKendree University. Before Mckendree David began his collegiate career at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Ill....averaged 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds during his career with the Loggers...shot nearly 51 percent from the field and 71 percent from the foul line at Lincoln Land...earned three letters in basketball at Freeburg High School...played for coach Donovan McMillian...averaged 19 points and eight rebounds per contest as a senior for the Midgets...was named team Most Valuable Player...earned All-Tournament honors at the Freeburg-Columbia and Triad tournament.


2010-11 SEASON: 

 David Appeared in 33 of McKendree’s 34 games, earning three starts at center...posted 7.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest...connected on 53.9 percent of his field-goal attempts, which was second on squad...finished third on team in rebounding...was also third with 22 blocked shots...scored 20 points on two different occasions -- Feb. Three against William Woods and March 8 versus Park...pulled down a season-best 13 rebounds in the Bearcats’ NAIA first-round tournament victory over Southern Nazarene...blocked four shots in the same contest.

2011-12 SEASON:

David Played in all 30 games, with 20 starts at forward...led the Bearcats in rebounding at 7.5 per game and blocked shots with 26...made a team-best 56.2 percent of his shots from the field...was fourth on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per contest...reached double-digits in the scoring column 18 times, including each of the last five games of the year...had six games with ten or more rebounds...put up career-high numbers of 27 points and 17 rebounds against Logan on Feb. 17.

2012-2013 SEASON: David only was able to play two games due to a season-ending injury against a team in the Maryville Tournament in December 2012.

Ever since David’s collegiate career, he made it a habit to always stay around the game of basketball. David decided to partner with Pure Sweat Basketball in 2015-2019 which helped carve David into one of the best skill trainers n the Midwest. In 2019 David decided to open up what is now known as the DR Basketball Academy.  David works with hundreds of players at all skill levels to help enhance the on-court performance of each athlete he works with. David’s goal is to be able to spread his knowledge to any athlete that is looking to take their game to the next level.
